Quick fixes

The keyboard says "Tap to set up"

You haven't finished the in-app setup yet. Open the Hush app, complete the recovery phrase steps, allow microphone access, and let the speech model finish its one-time download. The keyboard will become active automatically.

I dictate but nothing appears

1. Open Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Hush.
2. Turn on Allow Full Access. (Without it, Hush cannot insert text into your typing field.)
3. Restart the app you were typing in.

The speech model never finishes downloading

The model is ~600 MB. On a slow or interrupted connection it can fail silently. Open Hush → Settings → Diagnostics → Reset speech model, then start a fresh download on Wi-Fi.

I lost my recovery phrase

The recovery phrase is the only key to your encrypted history. If it's lost, the encrypted history cannot be decrypted by anyone — including us. New dictation will keep working. Settings → Show recovery phrase will display the current device's phrase one more time so you can write it down.
